Femmes, ethnicité, religion, âge, apparence, LGBT
Gender, ethnicity, religion, age, appearance, sexuality.
Discrimination is omnipresent at all stages of professional careers, from job applications to recruitment, but it also affects unemployment and chances of promotion. It is even visible in education, influencing the acquisition of skills and the choice of careers. The causes, costs, and extent of workplace discrimination are the subject of extensive research and testing and this book presents the results of this research for a range of social groups: women, older people, LGBT people, ethnic and religious minorities, and people discriminated against because of their physical appearance. This book is the first of its kind to propose a series of measures that demonstrate that workplace discrimination is not a forgone conclusion and can be challenged, beyond simple punitive approaches.
