The emergence of digital technology has eliminated the boundaries between producers and consumers of works of mind as demonstrated by of Google, Foldit and other wikipedia, for example, who were able to use these technologies to enable the multitude of users to participate in creating value, thereby creating new ways of sharing and mastery of knowledge.

To find new opportunities for growth, invention and progress, the cultural sector companies must learn to part with their beliefs and their monolithic positions and enter fully into our hybrid world. What is to say to follow the wind of change rather than raise regulatory walls.
