Les relations entre la France et la Birmanie au XVIIIe et au XIXe siècle

Emotions are at the heart of mass mobilization: compassion for victims, anger in regard to tyrants, admiration of heros, enthusiasm for collective action, etc. The objective here is to analyze these "phenomena" which allow militants to sensitize the public to their cause. This work illuminates the overlap which inextricably interweaves our deepest convictions, emotional reactions and strategic calculations. Covering the cases of Italy, Morocco and Argentina, the author gives an equal amount of attention to the way in which national contexts weigh on emotional expression, in turn urging political action.
