Jacques Pouchepadass (1942)

Specialises in the history of South Asia between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries. Senior Research Fellow, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Paris, since 1989. Director of the French Institute, Pondicherry (India) (1991-1993). President of the Monitoring Committee of the French Research Institutes in India (1998-2002). Member of the CEIAS management committee.
