Dominique Colas is Emeritus Professor of political science at Sciences Po. He is responsible for the cycle of studies on Eastern Europe and Russia, in which he has supervised numerous doctoral theses. A researcher at the CERI (Sciences Po/CNRS), he is also the author of several books and articles on Lenin, the USSR, and Russia, as well as on nationalism, and subjects of political theory such as the rule of law, and civil society. His work has been translated into English, Georgian, Portuguese, Romanian, and Russian, and he has been invited to several overseas universities. During his time in former Soviet countries and in Eastern Europe, he has paid particularly attention to sculptures and what they convey about the political life of a territory.
