Un corps à nous

Condemning gynaecological violence, increasing representations of the clitoris, politicizing menstrual blood, organising workshops dedicated to women's pleasure, updating the 1970s-era demands for women’s ownership of their bodies – a new generation of feminists marked by the #MeToo moment is now taking up the issue of the body and making it a central tool in a shared fight against oppression.

For six years, Lucile Quéré has conducted ethnographic research in France, Switzerland, and Belgium with feminist self-help groups who are challenging the medical hold over women’s bodies and sexualities. Through the question of the body and of intimacy, it challenges the borders of the political subject of feminism, and that enables us to glimpse the possibility to create a non-exclusive "we".
