La nouvelle économie libérale

Is liberty endangered ? Confronted with obstacles of ail sorts, régulations, taxes, cartels, said to hold back private initiative, should total individual liberty be claimed in order to return to the absolute respect to the individual rationality of « homo oeconomicus » ? Economie liberalism, from its origins, has constantly advocated this. Today, and particularly in the USA, there is a renewal of thèse classical thèses, justifled by new analysis. Monetarism, bureaucratie theory, etc. : there are many currents which can be defined as pertaining to liberalism. Are they simple idéologies, or is this high level scientific research ? What importance should the « new libéral economy » be given ? The studies in this book attempt to answer thèse questions, with no particular sympathy, and with no systematic désire to denigrate.
