This book traces the evolution of the place of Muslims in the UK, coming mainly from the Indian subcontinent, in recent decades The author first remembers how this docile workforce settle down, with a status of second class citizens that future multicultural policy did not compensate. This did not manage to stop the residential segregation and school.

The author shows how Muslims are gradually seen as true "enemy within" up to today, taking special care to deconstruct the stereotypes that make up the Islamophobic discourse. He points out the contradictions that traverse each of parties involved, including Muslims themselves far from possessing class homogeneity attributed to him.

The author: A specialist in British history, Olivier Esteves holds the agrégation in English and is an associate professor at l'université- Lille 3.
