The reluctance to use savings for long-term investments, the rapid expansion of the monetary mass are in France symptoms of inadéquate adaptation of finance procédu­res to the nature and size of the needs of a growing economy.The contributions to this symposium, organized by the Bank of France, deal with a wide range of problems raised by this situa­tion and of possible solutions.
