How can we establish a science of facts and unique processes for political phenomena and take measures of social acts as we would for political decisions? Through an epistemological thought process, Pierre Favre proposes a new method of interpretation reunifying political sociology, public policy, international relations and political philosophy. To take into account the unpredictability of the future, political action must start with another postulate: that decisions must be founded on values established by reason and therefore "universal." One of the duties of political science, in its theoretical component, is therefore to reflect, based on acquired knowledge, on the rational foundations of social order and on the decisions with which it concurs.
